About this Work of Art ~
"From
Union Square"
was created in 1964 by Laszlo Tar. The scene is a unique and wonderful
view of the heart of New York City - as viewed from Union Square
(14th Street & Broadway). Tar loved to paint and draw throughout
New York City. He would travel by foot and public transportation
to
find
his scenes.
On this day, he asked persmission to do his work on the roof top
of a Union Square building, overlooking Broadway. The view is looking
uptown toward the Empire
State Building with the Metropolitan Life Insurance Tower to the
front and right of the Empire State and Union Square Park direct
below. The street in the left view, heading up toward the Empire
State Building,
is Broadway forking up to 5th Avenue. What a perfect scene of the
city skyline and the streets
of Manhattan.
Enjoy this
fantastic
work of art.
The
original is a watercolor & goauche on paper and the print
captures the beauty of that medium in
perfect
detail.
