About this Work of Art ~
"The
Big Red Sky"
was created by Laszlo Tar in 1962. We are not exactly
sure if this piece was created in Brooklyn, but from
Laszlo Tar's own recollection and his painting history
(as well as other factors), we believe the work to have
been created in Brooklyn on one of the many piers. One of
the row boats show "Kings Point", which would
seem to indicate that it is possibly of the Kings Point
Merchant Marine facility in New York. However, we know - almost
certainly - that the painting was not created at that
facility, since it would not have been easily accessible
for Mr. Tar in 1962 and Vessels of the Kings Point Merchant Marines did in fact visit the Brooklyn piers.
Whatever the exact location, this
is truly one of Laszlo Tar's most dramatic and wonderful marine
paintings. The composition is just perfect and that Big
Red Sky - wonderful against the big blue ship. And notice how magnificently Laszlo
Tar captures the row boats, water texture and reflections. Don't
miss this masterpiece!
The
original is a watercolor created on a fine
paper and the print is a perfect replica, each signed
and numbered by the artist.
